Helping Rachel

This cake was for Rachel Fischer's sister's 16th bday. It is not complete in the pic b/c I needed to be somewhere. I did help Rachel as much as I could. MANY hours went into this cake.

Here is the fab new car! Interestingly enough, this is Andy's car. He traded in his beloved '98 Dodge Ram 1500 crewcab shortbed with sport package for a fuel efficient 2009 PT Cruiser. It was time. The truck had a couple fender bender "bruises" many many miles and low gas mileage. Plus, he felt dependability was soon to be an issue.
*we drove the cruiser to muncie = 27.4 mpg.

Apology

Hello. I must first say I am sorry to have been gone so long. Writing down events in my life is therapeutic and I should do it more often.

So, here is the news.

First, my family and I are all doing ok. We have started to attend Cadiz Christian Church again as a family.

Second, we bought a new car. The C.A.R.S. program enabled us to buy a brand new car much cheaper than a comparable used one. We picked a PT Cruiser - inferno crystal red.

Third, we finished the installation of new ceramic tile flooring in the kitchen. I am well on my way to having a wonderful gourmet inspired space.

The boys are growing so fast. Jonathan will be starting the 4th grade next week and Topher will be in 5 morning per week K-4 preschool. I am already planning my workout time!

I have also signed on to be an Usborne Books & More consultant to try to earn extra income. The books are great. Those of you who know me, know that I hoard books. I have shelves, boxes and stacks of them. :) I believe reading is instrumental in the developmental and learning process. So, my boys receive books for almost every special occassion or holiday.

I pledge to try to blog at least once a week but hopefully more often. Thanks for stopping by.

Card Making News

I have decided to enter a card sketch challenge. Since this is currently running I will add the pic of my completed card when the challenge is in process of voting.

Here's a hint: I used Stampin' Up! Botanical Blooms stamp set. The theme of my card is "(Step)Mother's Day" ~~~ cannot wait to show you all!
Ok so I know it has been awhile. Nasty bug going around bit me hard.

Last night my darling hubby volunteered me to make my grandma's birthday cake for her party in 3 days!!! So, I am thinking I will use fondant since it hopefully will be faster. My grandma is affectionately known to her greatgrandkids as "Granny Goose". (She and my late grandpa used to live out in the country and had a pond on their property.) I bought a mini goose shaped copper cooky cutter a few weeks ago thinking I would bake her some cookies. Now I plan to put geese around the side of the cake. Say a prayer for me and cross your fingers. I will post a pic when I am done.

Thanks for reading my blog!

Pizza! My son loves it!

So I decided to surprise him this year. Usually, I ask him what kind of cake he wants. So far he thinks he is only having chocolate cupcakes....

.....my cake buddy made a pizza cake and posted it online. As soon as I saw it, I asked her if I could copycat. She even gave me helpful tips. Thanks Nicki!
Here it is, a large "hand tossed, sausage and pepperoni".

2nd Try

Here we go. I have now decided I should add a few photos. Let's see if it works. :) The photos are successful even if they are not in the order I had planned. Some of these are class projects from Wilton cake decorating classes. Others are just for fun or for commission.
I hope you enjoy!

Hello everyone!

This is my first time blogging so bear with me....this is a completely random blog for the many crafts/hobbies I pursue. You will most likely see baked goods, hand stamped/crafted cards, sewing projects etc.

This is also in progress...

ENJOY!
